Checklist

  • Exterior dimensions.
  • Interior dimensions.
  • Tag all posts and enhanced opening trimmers.
  • Tag shear walls
  • Note perforated/ftao SWs and how to do them
  • Special note for double sided SWs (2 stage inspection)
  • Note Hold downs linked to details
  • Call out walls that differ from general notes (ex. doubled wall)
  • Call out fastener reqs between posts (Composite bundle studs, SW screws)
  • Call out straps at broken plates
  • Call out areas of balloon framing – any places where the wall height differs
  • Call out walls not braced at top (ex. pony walls as guard rails)
  • Explain walls on top of higher concrete walls
  • Call out furring walls
  • Add wall cut detail lines to separate any wall types Revit doesn’t do automatically (e.g. concrete wall joints with wood framing).
  • Fine adjustment of door positions (doors within 6″ of perpendicular a wall should be spaced an equal number of studs from the perpendicular wall, if possible).
  • Force display of drop beams that pocket into walls (using linework) and tag beams.
  • Fix display issues from posts above (set window “Sill Height Internal” parameters correctly, check cut plane height, set Extension Down parameters). Coordinate any changes with floor framing plans so those plans still show posts above correctly.
  • Tag window and door rough openings and headers.
  • Hide unused sections.
  • Align section heads and tails.
  • Add “General Sheet Notes” block and populate with typical notes.
  • Ensure all relevant details or strange situations are noted
  • Align text and adjust dimensions, details, text notes, and tags so everything is clean and legible.
