Publishing Conventions:

Name file with date and brief title- ex: 22.08.17 Design V1

Cover Sheet

  • Clean out irrelevant code references/ notes that do not apply (use track changes to double check work)
  • Update Mechanical Notes and Energy note tables with correct system/ insulation specifications for the project

Floor Plans

  • Dimension strings
    • Order: Overalls, Gridlines, Major Jogs, CL of exterior openings (except garages, dimension to face of opening), (upper or right) Face of Core Interior walls that intersect with exterior walls)
      • Exterior Dimensions are always to face of core
      • Wall framing plans are always to face of core
      • Architectural floor plans use clear dimensions (to face of drywall) for interior room dimensions, only if there is also a separate wall framing plan in the set (or there will be for design sets)
      • Snap strings to gridlines when it makes sense so that the string is not covering the dimension string
      • 4th line down should line up with crop box
      • When there are less than 4 dim lines, make sure the top one aligns to the outermost placement, and so on
      • When there are repeated dimension strings on the outermost dimensions on either side, the witness line can be removed from subsequent strings.

Balance section markers (so the tails are the same length) where it makes sense

check standard sheet notes

labeling exhaust fans- can shorten note to “50 CFM” with no arrow and place beside fan- for smoke detectors

Roof slopes on Roof plan- nudge close to the ridge and keep arrows short

Check text is aligned between texture lines (so that you don’t see the white background blocking the texture on the roof, ex)

Check for bugs (1/4″ measurements)- check gridlines first, then walls

Check window tags – spacing from windows and Code Notes/ Operation

Check “DN” text on stairs for correct placement
